Frequently Asked Questions

What is aerial yoga?

Aerial yoga is a type of yoga in which students use a fabric hammock to practice yoga poses. Aerial yoga can be just like regular yoga, using the silk as a prop for support and to even get deeper into a pose, or it can be a way to enter a pose that you might not ordinarily try in a mat class.

What are the benefits of aerial yoga?

There are many, but here are just a few:

  • Promotes more ease in the body by allowing the release of muscle tension
  • Enhances your practice by allowing you to explore familiar poses in a new way
  • Strengthens and tones your body, particularly arms, shoulders, back and core muscles
  • Creates greater awareness of sensation in the body
  • Gives the opportunity to step outside your comfort zone and experience something new

Do I need to be flexible to do aerial yoga?

No! But you do need to have a basic level of fitness that will allow you to do things like lift your foot up to the level of the silk (hip height) and enough upper body strength to complete a modified push up (knees down on mat).

What should I wear to aerial yoga class?

We recommend close-fitting but comfortable clothing. Tank tops and shorts are discouraged, as the silk can pinch when directly against bare skin. Shirts with sleeves and longer pants or leggings are preferable. We also request that everyone coming to class wear socks, preferably with grip to minimize slipping, in order to keep our silks smelling as fresh as possible.

Is there a weight limit for aerial yoga?

While our silks are professionally installed and secured, and are completely safe to hold thousands of pounds of dynamic weight, we recommend a weight limit of 250lbs or less.

How early should I come to class?

We want you to enjoy the full length of class! Please arrive a few minutes before class begins to allow time for adjustments as needed. 15 minutes before class is scheduled to begin is ideal. This allows enough time for you to find a silk that is the correct height for your body. Sometimes the instructor has to adjust the silk higher or lower, and this can take a few minutes. We strive to begin class on time, so please arrive early to allow ample time for these adjustments to be done.

What is your cancellation/refund policy?

All purchases are non-refundable. We have a 12-hour cancellation window for all aerial yoga classes. Non-Members: Cancel no less than 12 hours prior to class to get a full refund. Drop-in students or class-pack holders who cancel their reservation less than 12 hours before class will forfeit the class. Members and unlimited pass holders: A late fee will be charged for no-shows and cancellations made less than 12 hours before the start of class, if your reservation prevented another student from signing up for class. Special events or workshops cancelled more than 48 hours prior will receive account credit that can be used towards your next purchase.

Do I have to pre-register for class?

Our aerial yoga classes can fill up quickly and we can only accommodate 12 students. We recommend pre-registering for all aerial yoga classes through our website or the MindBody app. You can save your spot up to 4 months in advance! We have been turning people away at the door-and we really hate to do that.

What if I am placed on the waitlist?

When a class you'd like to attend is already full, you can sign up for the waitlist. If a spot opens up, you'll be added to the class, and we'll shoot you an email or text to confirm. Please be sure to check your email or text messages if you are on the waitlist. Spots can open up at the last minute!

Can I extend my expiration date on my class pack?

If you are unable to utilize your remaining classes prior to your expiration date, don't worry! We have two options for you to consider. -Purchase another 5- or 10-class pack, regardless of what you currently have, and we will roll over any unused classes onto your new pack with the new expiration date. -Extend your expiration date for a one-time fee of $15. Your expiration date will be extended by 2 months for 5-class packs, or 4 months for 10-class packs. Click here to take advantage of this option.

What are the perks of the unlimited membership?

Unlimited aerial and mat yoga classes (that's less than $15/class if practicing just 2x a week!) One free class pass per month for friends & family 10% off select workshops & special events 10% off most retail 6 month autopay commitment $129 per month (add on another family member for only $50)

There are three parking lots for the building. The back parking lot (accessed via Houghton Ct) is a little further away and will require a short walk up and down a flight of stairs to access the building.

There are two entrances to the building. If you enter from the front/main entrance, marked Building B-elevator entrance, the elevator is immediately on your left. Do not go in through the door marked Building C-Stairwell. If entering from the back of the building, follow the hallway signs to the elevator.
